Half Day
& Full Day
Preschool

A nurturing and enriching program dedicated to the diverse needs of all children 3 – 5 years. Through developmentally appropriate play experiences, we facilitate cognitive, social and physical growth and promote each child’s self esteem in a safe and nurturing environment. Program enrichment includes music, art, iPads, science and special events. Extended hours are available from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm to accommodate working families. Flexible schedules are available. Daily hot lunch and snacks are provided. All Jawonio preschool programs are licensed by the NYS Office of Child and Family Services and meets or exceeds all child care regulations.

Universal
Pre-Kindergarten

Universal Pre-Kindergarten is funded by the New York State Education Department and provides a free preschool experience for children who will be 4 years old by December 1st of the school year in which they will attend. Children are enrolled in the program five days a week for 2 ½ hours a day, or 5 hours a day, depending upon the school district. Jawonio offers integrated full day (9:00am – 2:30 pm). Applications for UPK are available at www.childcarerockland.org, and accepts children from all Rockland County school districts. Applications are due by March 31st. Our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program is licensed by the NYS Department of Education and the Office of Child and Family Services and meets or exceeds all child care regulations.

Special Education
Preschool

An outstanding special education program designed to meet the therapeutic, educational and social needs of children with special needs in both self-contained and inclusion classrooms. Our developmentally appropriate program provides education in pre-kindergarten skills for children between the ages of 3 and 5, as well as speech-language, physical, and occupational therapy, child and parent counseling and social work services. Each child is allowed to develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually according to his/her individual abilities. Program enrichment includes music, art, iPad’s, science and special events. All of our classrooms are licensed by the State Education Department and the Office of Children and Family Services. Eligibility for services is based on school district referral.

Respite

Jawonio School Age Care (JSAC)

JSAC is an after-school care program for children with disabilities ages 5 – 8.  It is open Monday through Friday on school days only, from 3:00 – 5:30 pm, with early arrival available at 2:45.  The program is FREE for children who have OPWDD approval for hourly respite. Please note, registration is required for the respite program.
