A Message From Jill
The 2018 year ended with wonderful and warm holiday celebrations across Jawonio, enjoyed by our staff, programs, and houses. It was a year of exciting developments for the Campus Redevelopment Project, which included completing the Summer Education cabins construction, followed by a community-wide Cabin Celebration event, and the dedication of the William T. Morris Foundation cabin.
We started the demolition of buildings to make way for the new Main Building, and achieved a significant milestone with the Capital Campaign, reaching $5.8 million raised towards our $10 million goal, thanks to the incredible generosity of over 1,200 donors and grant funding from the NYS Economic Development Council. We also entered into a formal partnership with Cerebral Palsy of New York State, joining our Day Habilitation programs and Community Living Services, to ensure more resources are available to support those who come to us for services.
As we look ahead in 2019, we are embracing the future of Jawonio and the future of our community. Jawonio’s new facilities and campus will be a significant community resource for children and adults with special needs for generations to come. As we move forward with this project, I will continue to provide you with updates to keep you informed. I invite you to reach out to schedule a tour to learn more about Jawonio and this project.
Thank you for your generosity, friendship and support. Please feel free to drop me an email at any time. Thank you for all you do to keep Jawonio on the forefront of serving people with special needs.
