Election Day is Tomorrow: 11/5/24
The Importance of Voting for Jawonio and Beyond
Voting is a fundamental right that empowers individuals to express their voices and influence the decisions that affect their lives. For the Jawonio community— our staff, individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges—voting on Election Day is especially significant. It is not just a civic duty; it is an opportunity to advocate for the rights, needs, and well-being of all members of our community.

Empowerment Through Participation
Participating in elections helps ensure that our perspectives are included in the political dialogue. It allows us to support candidates and policies that prioritize accessibility, inclusivity, and mental health services. By casting a ballot, we send a clear message that our voices matter and that we are active participants in shaping the society we want to live in.
By voting, we can help elect representatives who understand our unique challenges and are committed to advocating for our rights. This includes policies that improve access to healthcare, education, and employment, as well as measures that protect against discrimination. The more we participate in the electoral process, the more likely we are to see leaders who reflect our needs and values.

Make Your Voice Heard
Once again, tomorrow is Election Day 2024.
If you have not voted yet, it is vital to remember the importance of our votes. Whether it’s advocating for our staff, our services and supporting people with special needs here and around the country; every ballot counts. Let’s come together as a community to make our voices heard.
Voting is not just about choosing leaders; it’s about standing up for ourselves and ensuring that our needs are met. Together, we can create a brighter future for all of us in the Jawonio community and beyond.

If you would like to get involved in our  advocacy efforts, please contact Diana Hess, Chief Communications & Development Officer, via email at Diana.Hess@jawonio.org or phone at 845.708.2022.
