We are committed to offering community involvement through a variety of volunteer placements with local businesses & organizations.

Day Programs are available in New City, Nyack, and Westchester. Persons served must be age 18 or older to apply. Click here to see our locations.

Program Descriptions

Rockland (New City & Nyack)

New City Day Services
 

Offers people with developmental disabilities a person-centered day program which facilitates life skills through the community and center-based activities combined with part-time pre-vocational/work program in contract and other “mini-business” activities. 

Nyack Studio Arts
 

An innovative and specialized community-based arts program that utilizes the arts as the modality for young adults with I/DD to continue their education, explore the world and learn to become responsible and contributing members of society.  Serves young adults ages 18-29 years. 

Day Habilitation
Without Walls 

Using the community as its classroom, small groups (up to 4) participants with I/DD engage in planned activities in the community all day such as volunteer work, attending classes at various colleges. Some individuals also engage in part-time supported employment and/or internships in the Rockland community. 

LEAP - Lifelong Experiences and Academics Program

The program utilizes a variety of community resources and therapeutic activities to develop habilitation, community skills, advance socialization, develop personal responsibility, and improve. The goal is for the individual to improve physical, psychological, cognitive, and social functioning.

Rockland “After the Day” Respite Services

After the Day” Respite services provide a strong focus on learning community life, wellness activities, and developing independence in the community. Offered two afternoons per week.

Adaptive Tennis Program

Opened to any interested adult in our day programs this engages participants of any skill level or ability in the game of tennis. Led by a professional instructor, this program runs for 6 weeks in the fall and spring.  Funded by a grant from the USTA.

PACE Positive Adult Community Experience

The program offers complete support for all ADL needs and focuses in on community inclusion. Daily activities include computer workshops, budgeting, horticulture, music and pet therapies, volunteer work and academic supports. Designed to provide a safe environment where individuals can build day-to-day coping skills, and become more confident.

STARS Group. Seniors Program
 

Program for seniors ages 50-90 years which ensures an environment of respect, trust and support for older persons who are given opportunities in exercising choice, self-determination, and independence.

Sunrise Court
 

A sensory based program for adults with complex physical and medical needs that significantly impair their ability to perform activities of daily living.

Westchester "After the Day"
Respite Services
