During this wonderful season of gratitude, check out this beautiful message from the Szmulewicz family. You can make a difference for families in your community by making a gift to Jawonio today. We thank you for your support!
"Our son, Zachary came to Jawonio when he graduated from high school 11 years ago. Aging out of the educational system was frightening for us all. We were unsure of the future but Jawonio knew what the possibilities were. Our service coordinator helped Zac sign up for Medicaid, ensuring him access to services, and he attended a Job Club where he learned the basics of seeking and finding employment. He has worked as a data entry operator, earned a 2-year certificate in computer support at RCC, and through job program supports, has learned to navigate public transportation, enabling him to commute to a job in White Plains. He even sometimes goes to the city for lunch. His world has opened up. Zac will be starting a course in Medical Coding and Billing which will provide him skills, training, and experience that will enable him to find a higher-paying job. Thank you, Jawonio, for helping to make a challenging life transition into a time of discovery and possibilities. We are so proud to see our son step out into the world, and find his way in it."
