New Cause Campaign Supports Children and Adults with Special Needs
(New City, NY) November 26, 2013 – Jawonio, Inc., the premiere provider of lifespan services in New York and New Jersey for individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health challenges, and chronic medical conditions, announced today the launch of a new cause campaign, #love_ABLE, to support the agency’s services for children and adults with special needs.
Meaning “independence”, Jawonio respects the importance of each individual by upholding the following values: Honesty and Integrity, Inclusion, Mutual Respect and Commitment. Jawonio is dedicated to the independence, wellbeing and equality of people with disabilities and/or special needs.
A peer-to-peer online campaign, #love_ABLE seeks to celebrate the abilities of children and adults with special needs, and raise funds in order to continue providing vital services and positively impact community members throughout Rockland and Westchester Counties in New York.
Through Valentine’s Day 2014, the goal of the Jawonio #love_ABLE campaign is to raise $50,000. Campaign funds are earmarked for Jawonio children’s and adults’ services.
“So many of us have benefited from growing up in a place like Rockland County. In addition to great schools and a rich history, Rockland is a place where we all still value taking care of our community, particularly those who may need some special help and attention. That’s what Jawonio has been doing for decades and why I am so excited to help them help others. Those are the values I grew up with and have helped guide my career in Washington,” said Joe Lockhart, Managing Partner/Founder, Glover Park Group; former VP, Facebook Corp. Communications; former Press Secretary to President Bill Clinton; and current Co-Chair, Hometown Heroes – a Jawonio Foundation initiative recruiting a team of brand ambassadors who grew up in Rockland County who support Jawonio’s work.
Supporters of Jawonio’s mission to advance the independence, well-being and equality of people with disabilities or special needs are encouraged to get involved by either sharing the campaign, making a charitable contribution or fundraising for the cause.
