From the Desk Of Jill Warner, CEO
As we try to ensure that you have the best and most timely information possible, we are also aware of how rapidly things are moving during this stressful time. This is an additional update from my earlier email.
We know that you are concerned about the information and media reports on the individual who tested positive for the Coronavirus in our PROS program. As I stated earlier, all protocols and communications were followed. We were told by the Rockland County Health Department that our participants and staff needed to self-quarantine. Following that guidance, staff has been providing PROS services remotely.
However, just this afternoon, we learned about a 2nd individual who attended our Front Porch program. Here is the information as of 8:00pm this evening:
In a phone call with the Rockland County Health Department late this afternoon, Jawonio learned that an individual in our Front Porch Program had tested positive early this morning for the COVID19 virus and had passed away.
We are a healthcare agency. We support the most vulnerable children and adults in our communities. When any one of our Jawonio family faces such a tragic event, we gather around each other for support. Please continue to work remotely if you can and continue to follow the CDC and NYS DOH guidelines for social distancing, hand hygiene and universal precautions.
We will get through this challenging time together. As always I am available if you have any questions or concerns. Our thoughts and prayers are with our participant’s family at this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
