It's Not Goodbye, It's "See You Later, Sheri"!
A fond farewell to Sheri Muth, who, after 36 years of service at Jawonio is retiring. Sheri began her career as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. She steadily assumed additional responsibility, becoming a senior vocational evaluator, and going on to become Director of Operations and Employment Services. Sheri has served in multiple capacities throughout the years, always assuming more responsibilities to help more people in need of the services Jawonio provides. Under Sheri’s stewardship, Jawonio acquired the bankrupt organization Work Link, and turned it into the much respected and successful Westchester branch of Jawonio.
“Sheri has always been a great leader. She has touched and changed the lives of so many people for the better during her tenure here. Over the years she has been responsible for Community Employment Services, Day Habilitation, Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance, Drop-Ins, the Cleaning Company, as well as many other businesses and projects. Sheri has played a very important role in the growth and success of the organization, and I am proud to have been able to work and learn from her.” -Jill Warner, CEO.
As each of the Day Habilitation Programs held special celebrations to wish Sheri well, David in New City Day Hab Program said, “…this is not ‘Good-Bye’ but ‘See you later’.”
Sheri is not just a great leader of business processes, she is a great leader of people. The number of people who have been taught and inspired by Sheri is countless. She has always given 100% when it came to developing members of her team. We cannot thank Sheri enough for all of her contributions towards enhancing the overall culture of Jawonio.
“There is a saying that I have had in my various offices over the years- ‘you can’t build a reputation on what you’re going to do.’ -Henry Ford …I have spent my career at Jawonio doing what I have had a passion for, and creating opportunities for the people we serve; creating opportunities for independence. I am honored to be a part of Jawonio, an agency all about ‘doing’, outcomes, and facilitating independence. I will miss everyone, but as David said, it will be ‘See you later’.” -Sheri Muth.
