Get to know Randi Rios-Castro
Randi Rios-Castro is passionate about the field of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and has dedicated over 20 years to serving this population in a variety of capacities. Randi joined the Executive Leadership Team at Jawonio as Associate Executive Director in 2018.
Prior to Jawonio, she served for six years as Chief Operating Officer at Opengate Incorporated, a voluntary provider in Westchester County that serves adults with IDD. She held several leadership positions at Opengate since her start there in 1999. Randi is a strong advocate and has enhanced the quality of the services provided through implementation of person-centered planning and the use of Personal Outcome Measures. Prior to working at Opengate Randi held positions at Westchester ARC, New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center and the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District.
Randi received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Roger Williams University and an Master of Science Degree in Leadership & Management from Manhattanville College. Randi is an active member of New York Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation and serves on their Policy & Legislative Committee. Randi volunteered for over 10 years as a panel member with the Surrogate Decision-Making Committee. Randi is also an active board member of the Hudson Valley Service Providers.
Throughout her career, Randi has inspired diverse teams of professionals to successfully achieve strategic goals, align activities with their organizations’ missions, fostering shared accountability and ensuring the highest level of care, quality assurance, and service enhancements possible.
Randi volunteers her time as a Board Member for Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and has coordinated many charitable cancer fundraisers. Randi has a natural inclination towards human services and has dedicated her professional career to helping others.
