Dear Jawonio Friends & Family,
The Ferri Family and Nazario Family are just two of the many families Jawonio has helped over the years. This would not be possible without your support. This past month, we held a groundbreaking for our $18 million dollar campus transformation. We also announced our $10 million dollar goal for the capital campaign. Having secured almost $5 million dollars to date, we are asking you today to consider a generous gift to keep our momentum going, and help us help thousands more people reach their highest potential and independence. You can visit to make a secure online donation as well as the links above and below. Your tax-deductible contribution will help Jawonio meet the needs of people all across the lifespan in a beautiful new facility. As Jill Warner, Jawonio CEO has said, “We need a new building that will match the quality of services that our staff provides”.

Enjoy reading the wonderful testimonials and letter from three of our incredible Jawonio families and friends.

“From the time our child was involved in the Early Intervention Program, all the way through today, Jawonio has been there for all phases of his life, supporting his needs and helping him to be as independent as possible. We will be forever grateful to Jawonio for the services and support that they have provided to our family.”
-Denise & John Ferri

“Our daughter has made leaps and bounds at Jawonio. We never thought that moment would come when she would be able to say “mom” or “dad”. When it did, we were blown away. She is now a loving and expressive child.
We are so
grateful to Jawonio for all they have done or our daughter and family.”

A Letter from Dan and Ellie Salmon

We all have dreams for our children to make the most out of their lives and achieve great things. My wife and I are no different, and wanted only the best for our son. While we had never heard of Jawonio, we were given a gift of hope and the sincere belief that they could help our infant son Scott, who was born with cerebral palsy. Scott received early intervention services, attended preschool, and spent every summer with Jawonio making lifetime friends. He was also on staff at Jawonio for six years. The ongoing physical therapy Scott received allowed him to become mainstreamed in school, successfully graduate high school, and go on to receive his BS in Psychology from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. He wasn’t done yet! From there, it was on to NYU where he earned a Masters Degree in Social Work.

After working at Jawonio for six years, Scott is now a full time Social Worker at the Veterans Administration in Hampton Virginia, seven hours from home. As we see him interact with his fellow employees, fulfill his everyday job responsibilities, have his own apartment and be on his own, we wonder where we would be without Jawonio, who has been with us and continues to assist us when needed, every step of the way. Scott is one of thousands of people who are now leading productive, active and independent lives. That is Jawonio! For 70 years, this organization has helped thousands of children and adults with disabilities and special needs meet their full potential.

My wife and I are grateful for Jawonio every single day. With your donation, the new “Camp Jawonio” and main campus facility will no longer be a dream, but a reality for decades to come. You have made a difference for my family and thousands more like us. Please make a difference for those yet to come. Help us build for tomorrow!
Thank you,
Dan & Ellie Salmon
