Every year Jawonio receives awards for excellence in service.
We are grateful for receiving these honors and awards from both a local and state level.
Cerebral Palsy Association of NYS recognized Jawonio with their prestigious Program Innovation Award for continuous efforts of innovate services to meet the changing needs of families with disabilities, (and in particular) our integration of behavioral health services across all program areas. Staff Recognition Awards for outstanding work at Jawonio were awarded to the following individuals:

- Isabel Newmeyer, Coordinator of Job Development
Joe Zweig, PROS Program Director, was honored with the inaugural Rena Finkelstein Catalyst for Change Award for his significant contribution to the community to significantly improve the lives of individuals and their families facing mental health challenges.
The Jawonio PROmiSe (PROS) Behavioral Health Recovery Program was honored as “Provider of the Month” by the New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (NYAPRS) for excellence in recovery and rehabilitation, and for the integration of mental health services for individuals with developmental disabilities. The PROS curriculum is being featured on the NYAPRS Clearinghouse as a resource for other providers.
Jawonio was honored as “Business Leader of the Year” by Leadership Rockland for the close to seventy years of services we've provided to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and chronic medical conditions.
Jill Warner, CEO was honored with the Veritas Award for exemplary leadership throughout her career in the disabilities field at Dominican College’s 63rd Annual Commencement Ceremony.
Jerry Staller, Division Director of Education and Clinical Services, was honored with the Phyllis Helbraun Award by Childcare Resources of Rockland for his many years of distinguished service to children with disabilities and their families.
Nate Weissman, who works in the Jawonio Facilities Department was honored by the Town of Ramapo for his years of service in providing cultural understanding and translation services.
Christine Curley, Jawonio House Manager was honored by the Touching Bases Baseball League as Coach of the Year for her dedication and support in coaching her team of players.
Four Jawonio staff members were honored for their outstanding dedication and performance as Jawonio employees by the Cerebral Palsy Association of NYS:

The Jawonio Cleaning Company was honored with the Rockland County Department of Social Services “Spirit Award” for their exemplary services provided to the DSS building at the Robert Yeager Office Complex in Pomona. Joan Silvestri, DSS Commissioner noted how staff morale has improved dramatically since the Jawonio team has been working in the building.
Jawonio was honored by the American Heart Association with the Tri-County Platinum Award for Healthy Workplaces for our health initiatives in heart health, fitness, nutrition, smoking cessation, and more.
